Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Council of the International Society for Heart Research - European Section (ISHR-ES), is my great pleasure to invite you to our 37th Annual Meeting of the ISHR-ES in Porto, Portugal from 10th to 13th July 2023. This is shaping up to be an outstanding scientific event for our scientific community. We live in a time of great innovation in cardiovascular research, and the Organising Committee have put together a vibrant scientific programme. From epigenetic control of cardiomyocyte biology to cardiac regeneration, from cell reprogramming to vascular remodelling, we promise you four days of cutting edge science and networking, along with a stellar panel of speakers. The highlights of the programme include extensive early career investigator activities, poster sessions, social interactions, and a unique chance to connect with international colleagues. All of this in one of the most historic and fascinating cities in Europe.

The CIM-FMUP - Medical Research Center of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto is located in the northern perimeter of Porto, near the Circunvalação road (EN12). The Faculty shares a building with S. João Hospital (CHUSJ).

Line D (yellow) from Aliados or Trindade Station connects you to IPO Station. From here it takes 6 minutes walking to the venue, CIM-FMUP. More information here. The best way to get around and visit the city of Porto surely is by metro. Porto metro has an extensive line that covers all the main points in town. It’s fast and operates every day (including nights and weekends). Also, you should know it is the cheapest way to get from a point to another in the “Grand Porto Area“.

From downtown at Avenida dos Aliados you have the BUS nº 300, 301 and 305. The trip takes about 45 minutes to the event location. More info here.

The best way to find FMUP, coming from Circunvalação road (EN12), from VCI/IC23 or from A3 highway, is to follow the directions to S. João Hospital.
