Young Researcher Award

Eligibility

Eligible candidates must be:

  • PhD students, or an Early-career researchers who have completed their Ph.D. between June 2023 and June 2026
  • Registered in the XXIII Jornadas de Biologia de Leveduras Professor Nicolau van Uden

Candidates must have published at least one peer-reviewed paper as first author, aligned with the theme of Fungal Biology.

Application Procedure

Applications must be submitted through the conference website (or to the conference email address) and include the following documents:

  • One selected paper, as first author, published in a peer-reviewed journal;
  • A short cv (maximum 2 pages);
  • A motivation letter (maximum 1 page), explaining the rationale for the paper selection and how the advanced the state of the art.

Evaluation criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:

  • Quality of the selected paper (60 %)
  • cv (30 %)
  • Motivation letter (10 %)

Award

The awardee will be invited to deliver the “Young Researcher” Lecture, which will close the program of the conference, and will receive a monetary prize of 250€.
