Paula Simão Award

  1. General Considerations

CIRR awards the PAULA SIMÃO AWARD, with the purpose of recognising the best research work in the field of Respiratory Rehabilitation that has been published, between CIRR 2026 (March 2026) and CIRR 2027 (April 2027), in indexed journals with Impact Factor (Clarivate) and/or CiteScore (Scopus).

  2. Amount

The prize amount is €3,000.00 (three thousand euros).

  3. Scope of the Prize and Eligibility of Applications

The PAULA SIMÃO AWARD is exclusively reserved for participants of CIRR 2027 and will be awarded to the first author of the work.

Papers that have already benefited from the FRONTIERS MENTORSHIP AWARD of CIRR 2026 will be excluded, as that award already guarantees free publication.

  4. Submission of Applications

Competing works must be submitted by 12 April 2027 to the email cirr@skyros-congressos.com.

  5. Jury

The Jury is composed of members of the CIRR 2027 organising committee.

  6. Evaluation of Applications

The Jury will evaluate each work individually to verify that it meets all the requirements of these regulations and to assess the scientific quality of the work.

NOTE: Members of the Jury are not prevented from applying for the award, provided they are not the first authors. However, they will be barred from voting on and evaluating their own works, in order to ensure the impartiality of the evaluation process.

  7. Award Presentation

The award will be presented at CIRR 2027, during the closing session (23 April 2027).

  8. Final Provisions and Applicable Tax Regime

The specific conditions of this award exclude the applicability of the exemption set out in Article 12(2) of the CIRS for IRS (personal income tax) purposes; therefore, this award will be subject to IRS, including withholding at source, at the applicable legal rates.
