É com um enorme sentimento de orgulho e entusiasmo que o convidamos a participar no 1º Congresso Internacional de Reabilitação Respiratória (CIRR) da Sociedade Portuguesa de Pneumologia (SPP), que irá decorrer nos dias 26 a 28 de Março de 2026, no Montebelo Vista Alegre Ílhavo Hotel, em Portugal.
A Reabilitação Respiratória (RR) é um tratamento não-farmacológico fundamental para quase todos os doentes respiratórios crónicos e também agudos, e é transversal às diversas áreas de atuação da Pneumologia: desde doenças oncológicas, pleurais, intersticiais, neuromusculares e, obviamente, obstrutivas, sendo a Doença Pulmonar Obstrutiva Crónica aquela que mais evidência científica reúne.
Como é sabido, quer a nível nacional, quer mundial, o acesso à RR é ainda muito escasso e há ainda imensas barreiras por ultrapassar. A melhor forma de o fazer é divulgando os benefícios da intervenção e estimular mais profissionais de saúde a dedicarem-se a esta área. Apenas assim será possível aumentar o número de programas existentes e ajudar mais doentes.
A Comissão de Trabalho de RR da SPP pretende, com esta iniciativa, dar resposta a estes problemas e dar o primeiro passo naquilo que será, certamente, o início de uma reunião científica anual de excelência, multidisciplinar e internacional, onde possa ocorrer partilha da mais recente evidência científica desenvolvida na RR, mas também de ideias, projetos, experiências ou barreiras.
Assim, convidamos todos os profissionais de saúde interessados na RR a participar neste evento, que promete ser muito enriquecedor e dinâmico do ponto de vista formativo: desde Pneumologistas, Fisiatras, Cardiologistas, Médicos de Medicina Geral e Familiar, Enfermeiros, Fisioterapeutas, ou outros que partilhem o interesse pela RR.

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that we invite you to participate in the 1st International Congress on Pulmonary Rehabilitation (CIRR) of the Portuguese Pulmonology Society (SPP), which will take place from March 26th to 28th 2026, at the Montebelo Vista Alegre Ílhavo Hotel, in Portugal.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) is a fundamental non-pharmacological treatment for almost all chronic and also acute respiratory patients. It spans the various areas of Pulmonology—from oncological, pleural, interstitial, and neuromuscular diseases, to, of course, obstructive diseases, with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease being the one with the strongest scientific evidence.
As it is well known, both nationally and globally, PR access remains very limited, and there are still many barriers to overcome. The best way to do it is by spreading awareness of the benefits of the intervention and encouraging more healthcare professionals to dedicate to this field. Only then will be possible to increase the number of existing programs and help more patients.
The PR Working Committee of the SPP aims, with this initiative, to address these issues and take the first step toward what will certainly become an annual, high-quality, multidisciplinary, and international scientific meeting—an event where the latest scientific evidence in PR will be shared, along with ideas, projects, experiences, and challenges.
Therefore, we invite all healthcare professionals interested in PR to take part in this event, which promises to be highly enriching and dynamic from a formative perspective—welcoming Pulmonologists, Physiatrists, Cardiologists, General Practitioners, Nurses, Physiotherapists, and others who share a passion for PR.
