Jean Bourbeau
Dr J Bourbeau is a clinician scientist, professor and full-time researcher at  McGill University, Senior Scientist, Research Institute McGill University Health Centre (RIMUHC), Fellow of the Canadian Academic of Health Science (FCAHS). He is recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal (2025), “Distinguished Scientist Award”, McGill University (2025), “CTS Distinguish Achievement Award” (2017) and “CIHR-ICRH/CTS Distinguished Lecturer Award in Respiratory Sciences” (2024) and "Distinguished CHEST Educator” (2017-2024) and Thomas L Petty, MD, Master FCCP Endowed Memorial Lecture, CHEST (2021), American Colleague of Chest Physicians. He is recognized as a world researcher and leader in COPD, pulmonary rehabilitation, and education/self-management. He currently serves on various international/national COPD scientific committees (GOLD, Chest, ATS and CTS). His research includes the Living Well with COPD and many other chronic diseases (Long COVID, IPF, severe asthma, chronic cough), that have had impact in clinical practice and patient education, and the Canadian Cohort Obstructive Lung Disease (CanCOLD) that is providing a rich resource and data platform to initiate innovative research on COPD in Canada and abroad. His research leadership can be seen in his publication record, more than 400 papers, reviews and chapters.
