Sujeet Rajan is a practising respiratory physician in Mumbai, India. He graduated from the Grant
Medical College in Mumbai in 1989 and post-graduated in respiratory medicine from the Seth. GS
Medical College and KEM Hospital, also in Mumbai in January 1994. He also holds a Diploma in
Environmental, Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases.
Following his post-graduation, Dr. Rajan spent a brief time as a Lecturer at the GS Medical College
following which he joined the Bhatia Hospital in Mumbai in January 1996. He subsequently joined the
Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences from August of 2000. He has been actively involved in
research and clinical practice at these 2 Hospitals' since.
His special interest is in interstitial lung disease where he currently is principal investigator in 2 global
clinical trials related to newer drugs for IPF and progressive pulmonary fibrosis in non-IPF ILDs, as
well as CT imaging in ILD. He is also the India coordinator for REMAP-ILD, an adaptive platform-
based trial, evaluating different treatments for IPF and non-IPF ILD in clinical practice.
Dr. Rajan is also a post-graduate teacher at the Bombay Hospital, where at least two new resident
doctors are enrolled for post-graduate degrees in respiratory medicine every year. He was also the
European Respiratory Society’s National Representative from India from 2015 to 2018. He has over
60 publications to his credit, including the (first author) review on PPF in the European Respiratory
Journal.
